Position Responsibilities
As a Laguna Medical Systems' (LMS) Inpatient Audit Consultant,
you will travel to the client site and conduct coding assessments to help our
hospital clients stay on track with their inpatient compliance goals. You will
be responsible for performing in-depth audits and for presenting your findings
to our clients.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants for employment as Inpatient Audit Consultants are expected
to possess the following qualifications:
- AHIMA-credentialed RHIA, RHIT, or CCS;
- Active member of AHIMA;
- Minimum 3 years recent ICD-9 CM coding experience in an acute care setting;
- Minimum 6 months MS-DRG working experience;
- Thorough working knowledge of ICD-9 CM,MS-DRGs, CMS regulations, and QIO procedures;
- Able to travel by car or airplane Monday-Friday, home on weekends. (Localized travel in some major cities);
- MS Windows, Word, and Excel experience;
- Able to handle/manage computer equipment;
- Well organized, detail oriented, and able to work independently;
- Above average verbal, written communication and personal interaction skills.
